These days a new chamber orchestra, ‘Klangkollektiv Wien’, is being formed in Vienna by members of the Vienna Philharmonic, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the RSO Vienna, the Tonkünstler Orchestra and the Vienna Volksoper Orchestra. Due to the collective need to record and perform especially the masterpieces of Viennese “classics” from Haydn to Schubert in an uncompromised and timeless quality, the musicians’ gatherings put a special emphasis on intensive rehearsal phases, away from the hectic concert scene. At their first meeting in the course of their CD recording between 19 and 21 March 2018, the Klangkollektiv Wien and its chief conductor Rémy Ballot are dedicated to the symphonic work of the most “Viennese” composer, Franz Schubert.
MISSION CULTURE accompanies the Klangkollektiv Wien as general representative. We are very proud to be part of this unique project and of the creation of such a elite ensemble.
